Robinho unhappy with treatment at Real - agent

MADRID, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Brazil forward Robinho is upset that Real Madrid do not seem to value him, the player’s agent said on Friday.

The 24-year-old international has been linked with a move to Chelsea throughout the close season and that interest turned into a formal offer from the Premier League side on Thursday.

“Robinho is very angry about the way he has been treated by the directors of Real Madrid,” Wagner Ribeiro told sports daily Marca. “He calls me every day to see if anyone has said anything about his future and I have to tell him no one will speak to me.

“I’ve spent three days trying to contact them and they seem to have disappeared.

“Robinho can’t understand it. He could become the best player in the world but it isn’t going to happen at Real because they treat him like a second-rate player.”

Robinho had been named in Brazil’s Olympics squad as an over-age player but Real asked for him to be released when they discovered he had a groin injury.

He also said last month he was happy to remain at the club.

“Robinho’s plan was always to play at Real for many years before retiring with Santos (his former club in Brazil). But now he doesn’t feel wanted,” Ribeiro added.

“Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari knows him well, calls him every day and is giving him the attention he needs.”

Real Madrid return from playing a pre-season friendly against Independiente Sante Fe in Bogota later on Friday. Robinho played the first half in a match they won 2-1
